#2 What people Value and how Words are Powerful
  •                     When people interact with each other, the first thing that comes to mind from most people is: how they look. In other words, appearance. It slowly becomes one of the greeting traditions and I doubt that not many people like it when others judge their flaws on appearance. In society, people are being judged on this and do not feel very comfortable with the value that, for example, ’girls should be skinny and fair’ or ‘you will be accepted in groups of friends if you have good grades’. These values in society affect many lives and we could change them positively. I could make sure that it will make a great big change.

    How feelings change with words

Words are more influential than you think. People who say positive things to one another make the listeners feel amazing and important while saying negative judgments cause an opposite impact. We should care for each other’s feelings as much as ours. The selection of words is very important and essential. For example, in a situation of meeting a friend, Bella recognizes that Rose is depressed.

    Saying negatively

Bella: Hey Rose! How are you doing?

Rose: Hi Bella. I’m depressed with my work lately, but overall I’m fine. How about you?

Bella: I’m doing good. To be honest, you should not be depressed about your work. It’s the New Year! You should feel happier and more cheerful. Stop wasting time doubting yourself. What a mess.

Rose: This makes me feel even more depressed, Bella.

    Saying positively

Bella: Hey Rose! How are you doing?

Rose: Hi Bella. I’m depressed with my work lately, but overall I’m fine. How about you?

Bella: I’m doing good. Tell me if you have anything that I could help. I’m more than willing. Maybe we could get some fresh air? Come, you will feel a lot better.

Rose: Oh, true. Some fresh air might help. Thank you so much, Bella.

You could noticeably see a contrast between two situations about how words affect people’s feelings both positively and negatively in just a minute. It depends on you to decide which kind of words you would like who you love to be heard and what actions you would want to see when you are around them. The world would be a much better place for people to share positive and good things and remember,

Kind words and Empathy could change lives positively and it would make the world a happier place.
