Breathe
  • Breathe.

That's what I keep telling myself since I found out it's one way to deal with anxiety. I used to secretly say it to myself, silently in my head. Until one day he started to figure out my body language. He told me to breathe. I knew that he is getting better and better, but this is impressive.

    Breathe.

Since then I can only hear it in his voice. I don't remember how many times he said that to me. It wasn't significantly often. I didn't even spend that much time with him. Life is always like this. The time we spend with someone is not correlated to the effect they have in our lives.

    Breathe.

I don't have his contact other than phone number which is rarely available, and an address of the house that he might have already moved out. We rarely exchanged gift because mostly it was him giving something to me, and I don't always keep things. I travel light.

    Breathe.

But his annoying voice will just stick around forever. I can hear it every time my mind races like an unstoppable train. He will always be there. He probably sets an imaginary telepathic speaker that can detect anxiety and replays it whenever he catches a signal.

    Breathe.
