Section19 of the Currency Act B.E.2501 establishes the principle that the Bank of Thailand shall accept the exchange of damaged banknotes in accordance with there strictions. the rules and procedures prescribed in the Ministerial Regulations.
As for the damaged banknotes, they are specified in accordance with the Currency Act B.E.2501, Section 18, and the rules for accepting damaged banknotes for each type have different criteria.
1) A half note is a note that is split in the center or near the center into twohalves only standing.
Redeemability standards - You must write a request for the exchange of damaged banknotes toreceive half the full value of the note.
2) Incorrectly linked banknotes are those that include pieces of different notes sewn into a single bill.
Redeemability standards - If not more than two Each bill is a banknote of the same type anddenomination. to be exchanged for the full price of that banknote In the eventthat the damaged banknotes are torn apart by more than two pieces Must write arequest for the exchange of damaged banknotes.
3) A mutated or blurred banknotes are those that have any part of themmissing.
Redeemability standards - If the remainder is more than half and you can clearly prove thatit is a government banknote, and in a condition that will not be damaged fromdelivery, to be exchanged for the full price of that banknote.
4) Volatile banknotes are banknotes thatcause the text or numbers to be unreadable.

Therefore,if the banknotes are damaged, do not discard them, as they may be able tobe exchanged for new banknotes in full amount.
