I Remember
  • On the bank of the river
    There lied a lifeless thing
    Covered with dirt, almost invisible
Still not for her curious sight.

Held it in her left hand,
    She felt the unexpected heaviness
    Weighing her trembling fingers.
    "This thing is too much."

Muttering while cleaning it by her T-shirt
    "This thing is too old."
Contemplating the shape, the size, the function
Recognised it instantly, thanks to history books.

    "The future is lighter."
    There was no such camera
In the future, she's living in
Or the present, to be exact.

    According to the books,
This was the digital camera from the 21st century
"So old." she thought and turned the switch on.
Of course, it had been dead.

"Not surprising. The past is all dead."
    Opened her memory card holder
And put the memory of the dead camera in it.
Obviously, this was not her first collection.

    Finished packing her stuff,
She sank the dead into the river.
"No one should find it anymore."
Then, headed to the next journey.

The sun was about to set,
    The birds were flying home,
    There lied the lifeless thing
In the depth of the river.

It had no past, no future, nothing
    But it was freed.

The sun was about to rise,
    The birds were chirping,
There was a girl carrying the memories
    Heading to the future.

    "I remember." She said.
