I have chosen the article ”Twitter Analysis of the Thai Free Youth Protests” written by Aim Sinpeng and publish on Thaidatapoint.com. This article mainly present about recent protest situation in Thailand that doesn’t set up by an adult or group of person who has a big power over society only. But the youth can also come up with a great idea to create creative protest. By taking popular culture like a song from Japan animation or significant scenes from  movie to be the theme of protest so that they can gather a lot of people to come out and show their power to resist injustice from the junta government.

The reason I chose this article because I believe that politics and democracy requesting is the important things that the people  especially communication arts student like me who  will graduate to be a mass media soon need to pay attention and the beginning of this protest started with the hashtags on twitter. That mean social media platform play an important role to create some movement that has a huge effect on our society. It shows us that the youth use their social media not only for entertainment purposes but they can use it for political issues too. About the process of making a movement on Twitter, we need to communicate with other appropriately both sharing and receiving information and news  before we decide to do something like go out to access flash mob, protest, or other political activity that will make you safe while joining that activity.

While reading this article, I have used two types of reading strategy which is a global reading strategy because I want to skim the overall content of the text to know the purpose of the writer before reading it precisely and another type is a problem-solving strategy because in the article it has some vocabulary that I don’t know the meaning so I try to guess it from the context and recheck it's definition from the dictionary application. The next time when I read something I want to read it quicker than now by not try to translate the text to Thai before perceiving the information in my brain. Knowing more vocabulary is also significant for reduce the reading time.
