  • The Age Of The Winners Of 'My Teenage Girl' Who Will Debut As A Girl Group CLASSy Is Debated Because They Are Too Young. The Seven Contestants Were Born From 2001 To 2008.

The audition program " My Teenage Girl " has found a lineup of winners who will debut under the name CLASSy . But apparently the seven members were in the spotlight to spark a debate because their age was considered too young by South Korean netizens.

After airing since November 28, 2021, "My Teenage Girl" which is packaged in 12 episodes has finally been completed. The seven winning members of the idol formation audition program were announced at the end of the final round which aired on Sunday (27/2).

Shortly after the names of the seven members were announced, discussions arose on online forums about how young they were. The year of birth of the winners in the range of 2001 to 2008 was apparently quite surprising to netizens.

The following is the order of the "My Teenage Girl" winning contestants according to their birthday:

    1. Myung Hyungseo (June 26, 2001)
    2. Yoon Chaewon (June 4, 2003)
    3. Hong Hyeju (December 9, 2003)
    4. Kim Riwon (11 January 2007)
    5. Won Jimin (25 November 2007)
    6. Park Boeun (February 11, 2008)
    7. Kim Seonyou (March 20, 2008)

A post on TheQoo forum highlighted the rules under which youths under 15 are prohibited from engaging in performing arts activities. In addition, they are also not allowed to follow the night schedule starting at 22:00 local time. Working hours for children under 15 are also limited to 35 hours per week.

Although it is not yet known when they will debut, almost half of the current CLASSy members are still under 15 years old and that makes the public worried. But on the other hand, some netizens think that debuting under the age of 15 (Korean age calculation) is not a problem because many idols have done it like Jang Won Young , Ahn Yujin and Lee Seo IVE . The age of senior idols such as Sunmi , Hyuna , and Ahn Sohee as fellow former Wonder Girls as well as SHINee 's Taemin when debuted were also discussed.

"MBC should have had an age limit when auditioning like this from the start," said one netizen. "Aren't they worried about their activities being restricted?" added another netizen.

"They are still very young... but I remember Wonder Girls 10 years ago, when they debuted, Sunmi, Hyuna, Sohee, didn't even graduate from middle school," commented a netizen. "Jang Won Young and Lee Seo IVe also debuted at the age of 15... I think it's normal for idols to debut when they are young these days," said one netizen. Didn't SHINee's Taemin, Jang Won Young and IZ*ONE 's Ahn Yujin debut when they were 15 or 16 years old? another word.

"Seeing the 1st and 2nd rankings (Won Jimin and Kim Seonyu), they are very young but they are talented enough to perform live. So I think they will do well," said another netizen. "The age difference doesn't matter, the 2NE1 members are even 10 years apart," added another.
