Matt has a brother named Mike. He was raised by Jonathan Murdock, the father, who wanted his two children to be successful. Jonathan wants Matt to be a doctor or a lawyer. His experience of being bullied motivated Matt to become stronger and train himself in the gym.

In the comics, Matt gains power after rescuing a blind man who was nearly hit by a truck. A collision occurs and the radioactive isotope spills out blinding Matt. During the recovery period, all of his senses turned unusual and even reached the level of superhuman abilities.

Matt Murdock's history with characters in the Marvel universe is fairly long. He had been the Fantastic Four's attorney at one point. He was also Natasha Romanoff's girlfriend, the Black Widow, even though it ended up breaking up and eventually becoming friends. The figure that cannot be separated from Daredevil/Matt Murdock is Elektra.

In the Spider-Man: No Way Home Movie in Thailand story, Matt Murdock was involved in the fight against Mysterio. He has also been involved in matters involving Kingpin which later brought him face to face with Echo/Maya Lopez. After several comic editions, Daredevil then joins the New Avengers and forms a special team with Spider-Man and the Punisher to defeat the crime syndicate.
