Our terrifying battle has ended now. There is no mysterious voice or illusion. The pastor comes out and doesn’t know what happened. Everything doesn’t seem real. The cross and Jesus statue are on the wall. There is no tiny bit of scratches on it. We’re confused for a second. Then Riley picks up the bible on the floor. The last page is missing.

It is the only evidence to make us realise, all of that actually happened.

“We lost? ” Riley sounds desperate.

“No, you won. Satan lost.”

“But I can’t save your life.”

“I can’t save you either. Come on. We don’t have time to argue anymore. It is only two days left for us. You should stay with your family and friends. I will tell everything to Mrs. Molly and my cat friends too.” I drag Riley and Thomas out of the church. We slowly walk to the bus stop. Suddenly, Thomas’ tears start falling.

“Thomas...” Riley whispers.

“I have only two friends. We just start getting along very well. Then this Halloween I will have none.”

“You will have a lot of friends, Thomas. You are a good guy.” I touch his shoulder lightly. Don’t know how to properly comfort him. He is always smiling brightly. But right now, he is crying like a baby. I don’t want to see him sad.

“No, I’m a weirdo. A geek who no one wants to be friend with.”

“Do you mind if I introduce you with my friend then? ”

“Your friend? ” Thomas looks confused.

I introduce Thomas with many cats around Riley’s house. I still have my cat ears, tail and the ability to talk with the cats. They lean on his legs. Greeting him. Thomas looks better. He pats their head and talks to them. Although their conversation doesn’t make any sense. But it’s still good to see someone will be there for Thomas.

“Please take care of my friend after I’m gone.” I bow to the cat leader. We used to fight over food. However when the dogs or bad people try to hurt me. He and his fellow cats always come and help.

“It is great that you became human. But after you tell us about Satan. I guess we should be happy for what we have and what we are. You are lucky to win over scary devil. Have a good journey little cat. Don’t make a stupid deal again.”

I smile back to them.

“Your purr sounds sexy.” Riley speaks after his long silence on our way back.

“To you, everything Leon does is considering as sexy. But you’re right.” Thomas nods.

I’m glad that Riley and Thomas come back to be themselves. We decide to have Halloween party at Riley’s house on 31st October. Only the three of us. And on 30th October, Riley and I separate to spend our time with our beloved friend and family.

His mother doesn’t live here. She lives five blocks away with her new husband, and comes to meet Riley from time to time. That explains why sometimes I didn’t see her in the house. So Riley goes to stay with her all day long. He comes back at six with a lot of food.

“I thought you would stay over.”

“How can I leave you to sleep alone? Especially, it’s our last night.”

“But your mom...”

“She will be fine. She has a nice family to take care of her. Also, her husband is good. Their daughter is adorable. She will be sad for sure. But at least I know she will not be lonely. Come here. She told me to bring you your favorite fish and chips. Eat it before it gets cold.”

Riley’s father passed away ten years ago. He said there is nothing to be worry about. He can go with me wherever Grim Reaper will take us.

“Let’s make our last time unforgettable, shall we? ”

“It will definitely not be our last.” I smile. Give him my hand. He kisses it playfully, lifts me up to his bedroom.

Riley’s hand are slightly shaking when he touches my body. Despite the fact that we will meet each other again, we still have a lot to feel uneasy. We don’t know how long it will take for us to reunite. A day, a year or a hundred years. Will something be blocking us? Will Satan gain his power back and come for us? We can’t be sure. So I have to use every split second to touch, kiss, hug and love him.

I follow his movement. Playing our own song. The soft and gentle rhyme turns heavy, fast and fierce. My body is throbbing, squeezing him tightly.

“Is it great? Want more? ”

“Riley...let me do it too.”

I push him back on the mattress. Get on top of him.

“Are you going to kill me? Gosh, Leon. You are so damn hot.”

I grin at his words. Bend down to kiss his chin. My hip is moving faster and faster as he squeezes my tail. We are burning inside and outside. Although the window is opened and the winter wind kisses my skin. But Riley eyes are on my body. Set me on fire.

We have never been this united before. As the sunlight of 31st October comes, we still unite to each other. Our song keeps on playing like it will never end.

การต่อสู้ที่น่าหวาดหวั่นของเราจบลงแล้ว ไม่มีเสียงปริศนาหรือภาพลวงตาอื่นใด บาทหลวงออกมาและไม่รู้ว่าเกิดอะไรขึ้น ทุกอย่างไม่เหมือนจริงสักนิด ไม้กางเขนและรูปปั้นพระเยซูอยู่บนผนัง ไม่มีแม้แต่รอยขีดข่วนบนนั้น เราสับสนอยู่ครู่หนึ่ง จนไรลีย์หยิบไบเบิ้ลขึ้นจากพื้น หน้าสุดท้ายหายไป

นั่นเป็นเพียงหลักฐานเดียวที่ทำให้เราตระหนักได้ว่า เรื่องทั้งหมดนั่นมันเกิดขึ้นจริง

"เราแพ้? " ไรลีย์ฟังดูสิ้นหวัง

"ไม่ คุณชนะ ซาตานแพ้"

"แต่ฉันก็ช่วยชีวิตนายไม่ได้"

"ผมก็ช่วยชีวิตคุณไม่ได้เหมือนกัน ไม่เอาน่า เราไม่มีเวลาถกเถียงกันอีก เหลือเวลาแค่สองวันสำหรับเรา คุณควรอยู่กับครอบครัวและเพื่อนของคุณ ผมจะบอกทุกอย่างกับคุณนายมอลลี่และเพื่อนแมวของผมเหมือนกัน" ผมลากไรลีย์และโทมัสออกมาจากโบสถ์ เราเดินช้าๆ ไปที่ป้ายรถบัส ทันใดนั้น น้ำตาของโทมัสก็เริ่มร่วงหล่น

"โทมัส..." ไรลีย์กระซิบ

"ฉันมีเพื่อนแค่สองคน เราเพิ่งจะเริ่มเข้ากันได้ดี แต่พอฮาโลวีนนี้ฉันก็จะไม่เหลือสักคน"

"นายจะมีเพื่อนมากมายโทมัส นายเป็นคนดี" ผมแตะบ่าเขาเบาๆ ไม่รู้ว่าควรปลอบเขาอย่างไร เขามักจะยิ้มสดใสอยู่เสมอ แต่ตอนนี้เขาร้องไห้เหมือนเด็ก ผมไม่อยากเห็นเขาเศร้า

"ไม่ ฉันเป็นคนประหลาด เป็นเด็กเนิร์ดที่ไม่มีใครอยากเป็นเพื่อนด้วย"

"จะรังเกียจไหมล่ะ ถ้าผมจะแนะนำคุณกับเพื่อนผม"

"เพื่อนนาย? " โทมัสดูสับสน

ผมแนะนำโทมัสกับแมวมากมายแถวบ้านไรลีย์ ผมยังคงมีหูแมว หาง และความสามารถในการพูดคุยกับแมว พวกเขาคลอเคลียที่ขาของโทมัส ทักทายเขา โทมัสดูดีขึ้น เขาลูบหัวและพูดคุยกับเหล่าแมว แม้ว่าบทสนทนาของพวกเขาจะฟังไม่มีความหมาย แต่มันก็ยังดีที่มีใครสักคนที่จะอยู่กับโทมัส

"สำหรับนาย ทุกอย่างที่ลีออนทำก็ถูกมองเป็นเรื่องเซ็กซี่หมดล่ะ แต่นายคิดถูก" โทมัสพยักหน้า

ผมดีใจที่ไรลีย์และโทมัสกลับมาเป็นตัวของตัวเอง เราตัดสินใจที่จะจัดงานปาร์ตี้ฮาโลวีนที่บ้านของไรลีย์ในวันที่ 31 ตุลาคม เฉพาะแค่เราสามคน และในวันที่ 30 ตุลาคม ผมกับไรลีย์แยกย้ายกันไปใช้เวลาอยู่กับเพื่อนและครอบครัวที่เรารัก

แม่ของเขาไม่ได้อยู่ที่นี่ เธออาศัยอยู่กับสามีใหม่ถัดออกไปห้าบล็อก และมาเยี่ยมไรลีย์เป็นบางโอกาส นั่นอธิบายได้ว่าทำไมบางครั้งผมถึงไม่เห็นเธอในบ้าน ดังนั้นไรลีย์ไปอยู่กับเธอทั้งวัน เขากลับมาตอนหกโมงกับอาหารมากมาย

"ผมคิดว่าคุณจะค้างเสียอีก"

พ่อของไรลีย์เสียไปสิบปีที่แล้ว เขาบอกว่าไม่มีอะไรที่ต้องกังวลอีก เขาสามารถไปกับผมที่ไหนก็ได้ที่ยมทูตจะพาไป

"มันจะไม่ใช่ครั้งสุดท้ายอย่างแน่นอน" ผมยิ้ม ยื่นมือให้เขา เขาจูบมันอย่างหยอกล้อ อุ้มผมขึ้นไปยังห้องนอน

มือของไรลีย์สั่นนิดหน่อยยามที่เขาสัมผัสร่างกายผม แม้ความจริงเราจะได้เจอกันอีก แต่เรายังคงมีความรู้สึกไม่สบายใจ เราไม่รู้ว่ามันต้องใช้เวลาเท่าไหร่ในการเจอกันอีกครั้ง หนึ่งวัน หนึ่งปี หรือว่าหนึ่งร้อยปี จะมีอะไรมาขัดขวางเราไหม ซาตานจะได้พลังคืนและตามล่าเรารึเปล่า เราไม่อาจแน่ใจได้เลย ดังนั้นผมต้องใช้เวลาทุกเสี้ยววินาทีในการสัมผัส จูบ กอด และรักเขา

ผมตามการเคลื่อนไหวของเขา เล่นเพลงของพวกเรา จังหวะที่อ่อนโยนนุ่มนวลแปรเปลี่ยนเป็นหนักแน่น รวดเร็ว และเร่าร้อน ร่างกายของผมเต้นตุ้บๆ ตอดรัดเขาอย่างแนบแน่น

"ดีไหม อยากได้อีกไหม"

"ไรลีย์...ให้ผมทำบ้างสิ"

ผมผลักเขาลงบนฟูก ขึ้นไปอยู่บนตัวเขา

"นายจะฆ่าฉันเหรอ ให้ตาย ลีออน นายโคตรจะเซ็กซี่เลย"

ผมยิ้มกริ่มกับคำพูดของนั้น โน้มตัวลงไปจูบคางเขา สะโพกของผมขยับเร็วขึ้นและเร็วขึ้นเมื่อเขาบีบหางของผม เราร้อนไปทั้งข้างในและข้างนอก แม้ว่าหน้าต่างเปิดอยู่และลมหนาวพัดมาจูบผิว แต่ตาของไรลีย์อยู่ที่ผม จุดไฟในตัวผมให้โหมกระหน่ำ

เราไม่เคยเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกันมากเท่านี้มาก่อน เมื่อแสงอาทิตย์ของเช้าวันที่ 31 ตุลาเดินทางมาถึง เรายังเป็นหนึ่งเดียวของกันและกัน เพลงของเรายังคงเล่นต่อไป เหมือนมันจะไม่มีวันจบ

เดินทางมาถึงวันฮาโลวีนกันแล้ว ลุ้นกันมาเยอะ เหนื่อยกันมาแยะ ให้ความหวานกันสักหน่อยเนอะ

ถ้าพรุ่งนี้แต่งทันอาจมาทีเดียวสองตอน บ่ายๆ ตอน เที่ยงคืนอีกตอน จะได้ไม่เกินไปถึงธันวา ฮา
