A million-dollar question — How to prepare for the IELTS exam Hello everyone. I would like to talk about the preparation methods for the IELTS exam. IELTS stands for INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM which is owned by three entities namely British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and Cambridge Assessment English. This test is accepted by the following English-speaking countries for academic and immigration purposes Both Academic and General exams have 4 sections out of which the Reading and Writing sections have a different syllabus. The listening and Speaking sections stay the same. Each section has a 9 band-scale and the score on the section will decide the band for each. Listening (30 to 35 mins) — same for IELTS academic and general Speaking ( 10 to 15 mins) — same for IELTS academic and general Reading (60 mins) — different for IELTS academic and general Writing (60 mins) — different for IELTS academic and general I want to focus on the IELTS General exam in this article as I have experience in taking this recently. There is always the question of where and how do I start preparation? Let me answer this. Start with Listening first because it is an easy one as we are used to listening to the English conversions at school, university, work, and movies. This section has 4 recordings in which each recording has 10 questions. In total there are 40 questions to be completed within 30 to 35 mins. Each question carries 1 mark and the total score is then converted to the 9-band scale. This is one of the sections where you can score a full 9 band score with good practice. https://vk.com/@taemunding-black-adam-hd https://play.acast.com/s/634a60fca8cdf400125b63c2 https://play.acast.com/s/634a622790704c001113d24f https://play.acast.com/s/634a6383a82792001233466b https://vk.com/@ucigamomoy-2022-1080p https://play.acast.com/s/634a7263ab310e001246d462 https://play.acast.com/s/634a72fae28bd6001285f2ff https://play.acast.com/s/634a739e8ea6e90011966dbc https://vk.com/@gadangpantul-2022-hd-1080p-tw https://play.acast.com/s/634a796790704c001113f0b9 https://play.acast.com/s/634a7a4a0d89d40013f9eba2 https://play.acast.com/s/634a7b1f0f70be0012e9f9d1 https://vk.com/@padmigundul-2022-black-adam-hd-1080p https://play.acast.com/s/634a7f2e4e6b0500119e2f8f https://play.acast.com/s/634a7fbbe28bd6001286056e https://play.acast.com/s/634a80414e6b0500119e30de https://paste.feed-the-beast.com/view/b34b6f94 https://paste.artemix.org/-/V-aysy https://apaste.info/aVN2 https://www.pastery.net/uwervs/ https://party.biz/blogs/94793/173426/a-million-dollar-question https://rextester.com/YOJM69403 https://0paste.com/399949 https://pastelink.net/1vm9udnw https://paste.firnsy.com/paste/9L5xCrPLyxJ https://bitbin.it/AFMGdw6z/ https://www.onfeetnation.com/photo/albums/sdhertjurt https://paste2.org/dfcj7UP1 https://blogmypost.com/a-million-dollar-question-how-to-prepare-for-the-ielts-exam/ https://p.teknik.io/xE24K https://theamberpost.com/post/when-bad-days-make-me-feel-half-dead-how-i-get-myself-together-be-happy-again http://allabouturanch.com/photo/albums/whfuiodhwsediofo https://techplanet.today/post/your-dream-of-a-better-life-isnt-always-by-becoming-an-immigrant http://zacriley.ning.com/photo/albums/jwhdfjiwegukrfgo https://vocus.cc/article/634ae2e3fd897800011a6d37 https://ideone.com/eCL9kp https://www.dancehalldatabase.com/forum/Dancehall-Reggae/JavaScript-Deep-Concepts-You-Should-Know/fe9de7041388eb8ed9ed759a00b3809c/38965 https://issuu.com/hayleyhomenick https://healingxchange.ning.com/photo/albums/hertuhjrtujrt https://www.cakeresume.com/portfolios/when-we-eat-our-own https://stockhouse.com/blogs/7-un-sexy-dating-tips-that-actually-work https://www.click4r.com/posts/g/6442538/start-building-lsquo-the-second-brain-rsquo-a-method-to-organize-your-ideas http://ben-kiki.org/ypaste/data/59195/index.html https://justpaste.it/36oyl https://peacepink.ning.com/photo/foto-seksi-mami-sisca-pamer-dada-pakai-bikini-pink-netizen-asta-1 https://paste.toolforge.org/view/c8551adb https://mymediads.com/articles/159830?new_advert=true http://beterhbo.ning.com/photo/albums/htdthdrfh http://playit4ward-sanantonio.ning.com/photo/albums/heryheruhed https://dailybusinesspost.com/7-mac-tricks-youve-never-thought-you-needed/ https://paste.cutelyst.org/ti6RrrOET https://pantip.com/topic/41684967 https://jsfiddle.net/96nmg71z/ http://www.shadowville.com/board/general-discussions/10-hottest-new-apps-to-explore-immediately#p561631 http://paste.jp/679ae0a1/ https://www.zupyak.com/p/3317594/t/how-fivetran-ceo-george-frasers-nrr-bro-math-perfectly-encapsulates-modern-data-stack-ponzi-financing https://caribbeanfever.com/photo/albums/sryhrewhgeryh https://jsitor.com/xt7TwtDVP https://www.rw-forum.com/topic/433887-how-product-teams-can-build-empathy-through-experimentation/ https://muckrack.com/hayleyho-menick98/bio https://www.vingle.net/posts/4860885 https://ctxt.io/2/AAAQweJREg https://paiza.io/projects/8TRbuU7zlfExO_0oKuTQxA https://stockhouse.com/blogs/the-only-30-methods-you-should-master-to-become-a-pandas-pro https://geany.org/p/khCw6/ https://notes.io/qhxKZ https://www.techrum.vn/threads/startup-frontier-hokkaido-two-types-of-startup-visas-available-in-hokkaido.665303/ https://tech.io/snippet/s41nzRn https://ide.geeksforgeeks.org/f165ed78-de72-41fb-b79d-bd02c04c34c8 https://pasteio.com/x4G0XrfdVEuH http://pastebin.falz.net/2434807 https://webhitlist.com/photo/albums/sehtrioty7urg https://yamcode.com/rrpmny79ui where they post 1 listening practice test video every day, you will be marking your answer and at the end of the test, you can evaluate your score with the correct answers. Listening needs a precise understanding of the accents and it will get better with practice. Please start with 1 listening test a day for at least 2 weeks and I am sure you will end up getting more than 35 or 36 which equates to band 8 (which is the minimum score required for the immigration process in a few countries). Once you get the confidence of this, you can move to the next task, reading, or you can do 1 listening and 1 reading a day parallelly after some time gap. This will help you to move faster towards taking the real exam. Reading is again one of the easiest sections where you can score up to 9-band with good practice. This section has different categories and in total there are 60 questions to be completed within 60 mins. The reading section also maps the scores to the band directly as follows I recommend the following youtube channels to practice reading. Please practice 1 test a day similar to listening and then equate the score to the 9-band scale. I would suggest that you need to do this for 2 to 3 weeks to get a great score which is 8 and above. A score of 7 is considered good for some countries. Move on to the writing section after you have completed both the Listening and Reading sections. Most people find the writing section difficult to score and it is scored by the instructor, unlike the above 2 sections where you can evaluate your score by taking the practice exams. Writing task requires you to have some knowledge of the topic you have been given to write those 250 words. Only with some background knowledge, you can structure your article, and your idea can flow through. Hence practicing for the Writing section is a bit tricky as well. There will be 2 writing tasks Recommendation: Start practicing task 2 more with 1 per day with a minimum of 250 words and no grammar errors. Use some tools to check the spelling and grammar once you have finished and get it reviewed with your friends or even paid review with instructors. Write on different topics every day so that you will cover the research content on those topics in case it is asked in the exam. I practiced with at least 25 to 30 articles before I appeared for the exam. Task 1 is very simple as it is letter-writing and hence 4 to 5 practice letters should be good enough. The speaking section is again scored by the instructor in a live 10 to 15 mins session in person. This section happens on the same day or a different day but it is not taken together with the above 3 sections. People find scoring difficult in this section as it needs a lot of practice with good grammar, tenses, and no stammering. There will be 3 sections as follows and it lasts for 11 to 14 mins There will be an introductory session followed by a few general questions. Then you will be given a topic and then you have to prepare notes for a min and talk for 1 to 2 mins. Please practice the 2 minutes speech more. You can start by recording your speech and listening to it. This will enable you to correct your mistakes and once you feel you are good, then start speaking sessions with your friends or instructors and get the feedback. This will help you to know where you stand and you can correct yourself. Once you enroll for the IELTS exam from British Council or IDP, you will be getting some free tests that are very valuable to take before your actual exams. Please plan your time to prepare and definitely, and you can crack it. I recommend a 2 months plan in total for all 4 sections to get a good score. I followed the same and scored as follows in the individual sections with an overall score of 8-band I hope this information helps you to plan for the IELTS exam. I also recommend you check the IELTS scores for every country and it will help you aim accordingly. If you like my articles and would like to read more
